The CaliforniaCourtIntel deadline calculator handles the complexity of California civil procedure deadline math so you do not have to count days on a calendar.
Accessing the calculator. Go to Tools in the left sidebar, then Deadline Calculator. You can also find it at californiacourtintel.com/dashboard/tools/deadline-calculator.
Step 1 — Select the trigger event. Choose from a list of common triggering events: complaint served, opposition due, reply due, notice of hearing served, judgment entered, and many more. Each event is linked to the relevant CCP section so you can verify the underlying rule.
Step 2 — Enter the trigger date. Type or select the date the triggering event occurred. The calculator automatically excludes weekends and California court holidays from its count.
Step 3 — Select service method. Service method affects the deadline. Options include personal service, mail (adds 5 calendar days in-state, 10 for out-of-state), email / fax (adds 2 court days), and overnight courier (adds 2 calendar days). The calculator applies the correct CCP extension based on your selection.
Step 4 — Review results. The results panel shows the computed deadline date, the CCP section governing the deadline, and a plain-English explanation of how the date was calculated. You can also see the calculation broken down day-by-day.
Adding to your calendar. Click Add to Calendar to push the deadline directly to your CaliforniaCourtIntel hearing calendar, or Export as ICS to add it to Google Calendar, Outlook, or Apple Calendar.
Disclaimer. The deadline calculator is a convenience tool and does not constitute legal advice. Always verify computed deadlines against the current text of the California Code of Civil Procedure and applicable local rules.
